Why I Built this Project
I wanted to create easy Christmas tree decor with scrap lumber that I had on hand. Cedar fence pickets are only a few dollars if you don’t have any scrap pieces laying around. I also had some scrap 1×3 pieces on hand, but you could also rip the fence pickets to get the back and bottom attached. Overall I’m super happy with this project that only took me about 30 minutes to build from start to finish. This cute tree adds the perfect festive decor for my countertop! I had fun playing around with how to top it off with some fun decor items from our local craft store. I love that you can use it with a candle or add an ornament to dress it up.

How I Built this Project
I cut all of my pieces according to the cut list, sanded each piece and laid them out flat.
Â
I added glue to the 1×3 backing, leaving 3/4″ for the base overhanging.
Then I nailed from the back and added the base by nailing through the back at the base.
Paint or stain as desired! Easy peasy Christmas decor.
