Moody Green Toddler Room – Homey Oh My

I’ll say it again: I’d be happy exclusively designing kids rooms forever. There isn’t a funner space to create, especially for my own growing boy who I’ve gotten to know for 3 years now. My primary goal was creating a room that reflects him and what he likes, where you look in here and think, “That looks like Orion!” Functionally what we needed most was ample storage for all his stuff while leaving plenty of floor space for play. Beyond that, the design inspiration was modern shapes and curves, playful details, and pieces he could easily grow with.

This used to be me and Oleg’s bedroom (see the blog post before this one!), but we moved into the primary suite that we’d been using as a family room. Shifting rooms was in preparation for Romi to move into the nursery. This huge transition of adding a family member made it all the more important that Orion would love his new big boy room. Drenched in his favorite color and things, a reading nook for his beloved books, table for crafts, and his first non-crib bed, this is a very special room he’ll be doing a lot of growing in for years ahead. The whole family loves spending time together in this space!
