READING NOOK – Homey Oh My

This post is sponsored by AllModern.

While creating a reading nook was the driving force for updating this corner, I would more so now call this a relaxation corner. Conducive to quiet reading, yes, and a little hideaway to take my cup of coffee to while aimlessly swiveling around in that chair, also yes! I partnered with AllModern to create this corner escape, confident that they’d have beautiful pieces with the minimal modern design I’m always seeking to incorporate in all parts of our home. They’re one of my most trusted furniture and decor source since the beginning, where I know I’ll find what I’m looking for with the added major perk of fast and free shipping! Stick around til the end of this post for all my reading nook picks from their summer catalog.

This corner is adjacent to a sideboard that stores all of our books, making it the right spot to put a chair and invite spontaneous reading. I love the curves of this AllModern bouclé lounge chair, how the seat is wide enough to accommodate the way I often sit with my legs up, and of course the swivel function that surprisingly adds so much to the relaxation factor of this corner. I added racks on the wall for magazines, my favorite design catalogs, and any casual reads. These racks are from Denmark that I got years ago, but I love this AllModern black tiered shelf that would work perfectly here too.

Very excited about this AllModern black marble end table because it gives the look of marble without the cost of marble. Though it’s heavy, it feels robust and stable, beyond capable of holding your drink, decorative objects, and in-process reads.

In every space I must incorporate something living. Often times it’s plants, and a tall one like this creates almost a canopy over the chair that makes this corner feel even more like its own special space. Simple details like this can do so much to delineate an area, its function, and greatly affect the way it feels- laidback, relaxed, and calm.
