Thistlekeeping – Thistlewood Farm

Thistlekeeping – Thistlewood Farm

Random thoughts on a homecoming weekend:

1. Thistlekeeping is a little late today. I’m down in Waco for Baylor homecoming and somehow Thistlekeeping got lost in the shuffle.

But a little Thistlekeeping is better late than never. 🙂

2. I have the BEST nail polish to tell you all about. It looks just like gel when you put it on and it’s from Sally Hansen and under $6.

I put three coats on, let it set and then add a top coat and then I can go at least a week without my nails chipping.

You can see the nail polish color I have on right now here.

And this was the color I wore last week.

And the top coat is on deal right now for under $4 here.

3. Have you seen the new hotel down in Waco that Chip and Joanna completely remodeled? There’s a show about it called Fixer Upper: The Hotel Show.

The hotel is called 1928 Hotel and we have stayed there and it’s amazing.

You can read all about our visit here.

4. It was an amazing week on the blog. We chatted about:

  • 5 tips to make life easier
  • the best garlands to go from fall to Christmas
  • 7 simple ideas to make your house cozy
  • the coziest throws for fall

5. November 1 is the start of Christmas movie-watching time. Drop your favorites in the comments. We love “Window Wonderland” and “It’s a Wonderful Life” and actually with Christmas in the title. 🙂

And now?

Let’s see all the inspiration I found for us this week (trust me—it’s a good one).

White pumpkins with long, curved stems are artfully arranged against a dark background. Autumn leaves are scattered around, and a copper vase holds more leaves, creating a cozy, seasonal display.

These plush pumpkins have real stems.

And you can make them yourself.

You can see the DIY here.

A rustic centerpiece featuring pine cones shaped like trees with small star toppers is displayed on a driftwood base. White candles are interspersed among the pine cones. Clusters of small berries are arranged in front on a light wood surface.

Isn’t this the cutest Christmas tree centerpiece?

It’s made out of a log and pinecones.

You can see the DIY here.

Festive holiday scene with three chocolate pinecone-shaped desserts on a white plate, garnished with green sprigs. In the background, a mug of hot cocoa, a large mixing bowl, and ornaments add to the cozy ambiance.

These pinecone brownies are so next-level.

I read the directions and they didn’t look too hard to make.

You can see the recipe here.

A festive table setting with glowing amber glass pumpkins, warm candlelight, and elegant champagne glasses. The scene is cozy and inviting, perfect for an autumn celebration.

This glowing pumpkin centerpiece.

I never thought of this idea before, but it’s gold (literally).

You can see the table here.

What are your feelings about this?

A collection of small pine cone snowflakes arranged on a light wooden surface, creating a natural and rustic decoration.

This pinecone snowflake is such an easy craft.

And if you have pinecones in your yard it’s almost free.

A woman with long blonde hair, in a black-and-white checkered shirt, smiles brightly and holds a stack of book club books. The text above her reads "10 of the Best Books for Book Clubs." The image is from thistlewoodfarms.com.

And if you aren’t in a book club?

This is your sign.

It’s one of the best things I ever did for myself.

You can see all my favorite book club books here.

And here’s a quick pic we snapped from Pigskin last night.

It was so much fun.
